Radiant features the work of seventeen contemporary artists and creatives who share the intersectional identity of ‘Black Woman’.

In a world in which Black women are made to feel as though we are undeserving of joy, where we are bombarded with images and experiences of violence, micro-aggressions, spaces and interactions full of both gendered and racialised heaviness and both overt and covert othering, a space intentionally created for the sole purpose of a fully immersive exploration and experience of joy, what it looks, feels, smells, sounds and tastes like is imperative not only to our survival as a collective but also our individual well being.

The Radiant exhibition explores the experience and cultivation of joy for, with and by Black Women through different mediums of art and creative practices. Working exclusively with emerging and established Black Women artists and creatives, the goal is to intentionally create and hold space for the sole purpose of an immersive exploration of joy through all the senses (sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste).

Featured artists include Adanma Nwankwo, Amaani Oluwa, Bex, Birungi Kawooya, CR1B, Farrah Riley Gray, Funmi Lijadu, Gifty Dzenyo, Joke Amusan, Kirsty Atek, Lola Betiku, Sabina Silver, Saidat Animasaun, Sade Popoola, Tomilola Olumide, Yelita Ali and Yvadney Davis.
